Speak Easy

Posted Feb 4, 19:25

Just became aware of this, I wonder if they are aware of the double meaning in their name. In case you did not know, speak easies were places in the 20s in which alcohol was sold. The name originated from the requirement of speaking softly in order to not reveal the existance of the party to the cops.

makes you wonder what they are really doing.

Wow, this was possibly the worst joke you could have made concerning that company.
The name is obviosly drawing attention to how you’ll “Speak Easy” with their service, and has nothing to do with the SpeakEasys of prohibition.

Gah, do you have to be so concrete? Can’t you just laugh at marketing guys that don’t know history?

I already explained why you’re entirely wrong on this point. They don’t have no knowledge of history, as you suggest, they simply gave their company a fitting name.
Why do you have to be so dead-set on finding a reason to mock them? Are you really over-compensating that much?

What if I re-classify it as ‘poiniting out irony’, would you be satisfied and not overly fraudian then?

If you reclassified it as “pointing out irony”, I’d chastise you for not only being completely wrong again, but also for making a cheap attempt to get out of being a stuck-up jerk.

I already know I’m a jerk, it said so in the sidebar since this blog was born.

    Ctrl + f: jerk
Thats funny, the only two places on this page with the word jerk are the comments!
