I have an HP media center pc. My son had the computer set up for two users; me and the administrator. He was the administrator. He moved away and didn’t leave me his password. Is there a way to find out what is was and to change it? Thanks fo any help you can give.

Nextel the best thing to do would be to wipe the computer, just save your files somewhere else then when you’re starting teh computer up hold down the F10 key its a HP machine so you should have the ability to Re-Format our computer from the HDD, unless you created the CDs that perform this function then you’ll need them,

just reload it all back it’ll even run faster once you’ve cleared all his stuff off there too.

Hi I am No IT wizz Kid, just a simple Graphic Artist. It is a little tricky; but follow these instructions and it should be able to by pass any PC/laptop Password. Switch on PC, boot up and press F8 Key continuously, press safe mode, press enter, press again, (be Patient) after 2 minutes safe mode screen will open, press administrator, then press yes, now press start menu, and then go to and press control panel icon, now press user accounts, ignore administrator this time and press user name.? now press change password, type in your new password, now turn off and reboot as normal,

type in the new password. That should work.
