Stereotypes are bad. They are an insufficient label giving society an excuse to treat many people who posses few similarities alike, often in a derogatory manner. Moreover, I tend to dislike online memes of the type involving replicating a bunch of nonsense into one blog or another. Still, with all that being said, I am going to give away that this post is one centering on an online quiz. But why?

The answer is that, frankly, I enjoy the idea of answering questions with winding sentences being derailed from the question’s subject in a consistent manner, eventually giving in parts of my personality not likely to appear in any other form of blogging.

So therefore, today, I shall make a small exception and a short excursion into the world of stereotypes, testing the watered-down classification system dominating the design paradigms of so many weblogs in order to find out which one I might fit best, and completely ignore the previous question while I’m at it:

Goth
Do you wear black eyeliner? Black eye-what?
Do you own any black clothing? I’ve got a few shirts, I think. Wouldn’t count on it, however.
Do you think about death often? About this subject I cannot lie, ever since my grandfather’s death I have been thinking of the death of family members, and of how life plays a cruel joke on us all, having us either die young or witness the death of our parents.
Do you want to die? Not lately. I used to have a slight deathwish when I first got to the United States. Now, though, I feel that I have at least something to hold on to and to strengthen me. Knowing that, I don’t think I’d ever really want to die.
Are you a social outcast? To a certain extent. I was surely much of an outcast during many of my elementary and middle school days, but now I feel more connected back into society, and I have found that less people have been molesting me (practically none at all, for that matter)
Are you pale? No
Do you like Hot Topic? I assume that’s the name of a band which I’ve never heard of.

Skater Punk
Can you skateboard? I’ve tried to, sometimes, but my relationship with skateboarding never quite worked out. The only thing I can do properly with a skateboard is play “You Lose”, a game where the only three rules are that everyone in the world is a participant, that the point of the game is not to lose, and that you are not allowed to call anyone George W. Bush unless they are the 43^rd predisent of the United States of America. Informal rules include the idea of passing a skateboard from one person to another, but the main ideas have not been put into the official rulebook.
Do you wear Vans? No. Generally, if I were to wear a car, it would be some sort of ulta-light mini-hybrid.
Do you do stupid stuff with your friends? That depends on how you would define “stupid”. We definately get into stupid disussions often (sometimes during our writing class, but that’s another story)
Do you get in trouble? No
Do you have any piercings? No

Prep
Do you say the word “like”? Like, no.
Do you shop at Abercrombie and Fitch? I never shop, period.
Are the A&F models hot? They might be, they might not be.
Rock music is bad, right? Some of it is bad, some of it is good. Personally, I like the beatles.
Do you want to be in a sorority/fraternity? Nope.
Into jocks/popular guys/girls? This being Commie High and all, there aren’t that much jocks, you meet them once in a while, but they’re rare in these surroundings. Generally, however, I couldn’t care less about jockiness or some rat-race popularity contest when assessing a person.
Are/were you a cheerleader? Nope.

Hippie
Is your hair long? No, though I seldomly cut it (mainly due to extreme laziness on my part)
Are you a vegetarian? Yes, have been so ever since the summer between the eighth and ninth grades.

Do you want to save the animals? If what I’m saving them from is brutal slaughtering, then the answer is yes.

What do you think about do-rags? I don’t.
What about hip-hop? For the most part, I don’t like it all that much, but over the years there have been a few hip-hop songs that I have taken a liking to.
Was Tupac truly the greatest rapper in the world? I wouldn’t know.
What do you think about afros? They look kind of uncomfortable.
You ever said ‘fo shizzle’? No, but I was planning to use the phrase in one of the Math Underground promotional posters.

How often do you cry? Not much. Usually, I have the general feelinf that I might cry, I’m never quite sure but I never actually get to the point of crying. I don’t know whether that is positive or negative. Probably negative.
Do you have an ex? No.
Do you have an acoustic guitar? Nope.
Are you emotional? Yes. People often won’t see that, but under the surface I have my own storms.
Do you like soft music? Yes. I don’t generally enjoy music that has a beat akin to someone hitting my head with a club.
Do people understand you? Not really. I’m not sure I understand myself.
Do you write your own songs? I write poems (though most of them aren’t all that good), but I never compose a melody for them.

Do you cut? Cucumbers, yes; My wrists, no.

Do you pick on the geeky kids? I am geeky. And no, I don’t pick on myself.

Geek
Do you wear glasses? Yes, ever since mid-ninth grade.
Do you get good grades? I pass most of my classes. Apart from that, though, I have generally not been getting good grades (though it’s getting better lately).
Are you smart? I do conisder myself to be at least slightly above average intelligence. However, considering the results of the 2004 election, I’m not sure that says much.
Do you use an inhaler? Seasonaly. Sometimes I have Asthma attacks and need to use medication, but other times (usually, in fact) I’ll be perfectly fine and off the inhaler.
Do you stick pens and calculators into your shirt pockets? I ususally wear T-Shirts.
Does your mom buy your clothes? yes.
How often are you on the computer? Very often

Generally, I seem to be a hippie geek, but then again, I would say that those word are pretty meaningless in terms of actually knowing me (well, geek might be, but still…).
