Independent Studies

An independent study allows you to work on specialized classes and projects and receive high school credit. IS’ are taken with a certified teacher teaching in their certified area here at Community. The IS designation is usually given to small or one-one on classes (notable exceptions are Model UN and SEED).

IS’ do not count towards your 6-class limit. This is really handy if you want to take a class but cannot be enrolled. Since each IS is unique, you’ll have to talk with your forum leader to set one up.
