Online Course Application Process

To browse the course offerings, visit the Michigan Virtual High School and click on the courses tab. Not all MVHS classes listed are available to AAPS students. Deadline to submit is 3:30 pm: Fall 07 – September 13th.

Courses not available – Personal Fitness, Health
Western Civilizations semester class, Non-Western Civilizations semester class

There is a year long World Civilizations class that counts for western and non-western civilizations but students must take the full year.

To find out more information about taking an MVHS online class, go back to the MVHS home page. Click on the Orientation tab and then click on the “student” link on the left side. Read through the questions and answers.

General Information

  1. If more students apply for CR classes than are available, then the following priorities will be used: a) grade level (seniors receive top priority, then juniors, sophomores, and freshman), b) credit recovery needs, c) special needs.
  2. Who May Apply – Students who have failed a class and want to retake the class for credit, students who have a scheduling conflict that can’t be resolved, seniors who need a class to graduate, students wanting to advance a level in mathematics, students who have only 5 classes, students taking online government, students with special needs.

To Enroll for Fall 07

  1. Complete the left column only of the MVHS Student Enrollment Information Form (PDF).
  2. Complete the Online CR Course Plan Cover Sheet (PDF). Make sure you get parent and counselor signatures.
  3. Staple together the MVHS Student Enrollment form and Online CR Course Plan Cover Sheet.
  4. Meet with Susette Jaquette (contact info) with the completed forms.

Mandatory Orientation and Proctored Tests

You are required to attend one orientation session and two proctored test sessions.

All students will have two tests from their course proctored. A list of dates and times will be given to you after you attend the orientation session.

DROP / WITHDRAW – Students must contact Susette Jaquette at jaquette@aaps.k12.mi.us.

*Drop Deadline: 7 days from your first login. For students who drop from their class by the drop deadline, the class does not appear on your transcript.

*Withdraw Deadline: 14 days from your first login. For students who withdraw from their class by the withdraw deadline, the class will appear on the transcript with a “W” grade.
